Vintage M. Hohner The Chromonica Chromatic Harmonica Model 260 Key of C Germany.
This is a circa 1970s Hohner "The Chromonica" Chromatic Harmonica Model 260 Key of C which is in Excellent Condition. The chrome plated top and bottom plates show no wear; the chromed mouthpiece shows little wear for its age. The brass mounting plates are free of rust and corrosion. The slide action is perfect with a strong but smooth spring action. The pear wood comb is perfect, with no splits or cracks. All 40 reeds are in place and operational. The sound quality is excellent. The original blue plastic faux crocodile leather case is in good condition with no cracks or tears, however the gold lettering logo shows some wear. AThe two snaps on the front edge of the case work as designed. This harmonica measures 5 1/2 inches long including the slide control by 1 1/2 inches wide by 1 1/8 inches thick. Made in Germany.
This Chromonica 260 Key of C is a terrific example of 1970s Hohner craftsmanship. It would make a superlative addition to someone's vintage Hohner harmonica collection, or would make a treasured gift to a player or collector.
